SM North Pole

Saw Rebelpixel's photoblog of the new Annex in SM North EDSA [via Sofimi's plurk]. It was so pretty!! And cold (ergo, me calling it SM North Pole instead of SM North EDSA)! And empty! I loved it!

Abot Ko Ang Mundo!

The stores were so few, but my sister and I found a particularly charmed one called "Mags", which featured clothes from all over Asia. The dress I got my sister as a Christmas present was probably from Hong Kong, but it was cute anyway, so we got it.

The mall is obviously created two-fold: to beat SM Mall of Asia and make SM North EDSA the third biggest mall in the world (ergo, all the world thingies all over the mall, and other art deco stuff that's good for camwhoring). Another is for Henry Sy to steal off some of the Ayala clientèle from Trinoma. I don't know how the richest man in the country could pull that off, but seeing how pretty the interior of the new Annex, I'm sure he can give Ayala a run for his money.

The interior is superb. When I become rich and powerful, I'll hire the architectural firm who did this to do my house or something.

Fine, I do have a few complains. It's not that accessible. It's like the Block and the Annex is the posh sandwich cookies of a rotting cream filling (that is, the main building of SM North EDSA). Yes, it is still under construction, but I think they should also renovate the main building to make it more competitive with the mall across the street.

Me on the phone. Looking out the glass windows that showcase the sprawling mall and the construction.

So, let's take a mall poll!!!

When I look at malls and be at them, I really just forget that I have to study. Time just flies, and once again, I haven't done substantial studying. WUUUUHHH. I'm such a terrible law student. But holidays are just love!!!

Technically, these malls are not along EDSA (i.e. inaccessible from the MRT) and will take a lengthy walk to reach: PowerPlant, and Greenhills.

And these two malls are no where near EDSA: ATC and Ever Gotesco Commonwealth.

But I voted for Glorietta/Greenbelt, simply because their malls are always fresh.

I'm not really geographically challenged, even Podium isn't along EDSA, but it was categorically more general (most of the malls listed) than "Malls Celeni has been To In The Past Decade in Metro Manila". There are things I didn't include that are along EDSA like Starmall or EDSA Central and that chever mall in the Taft/EDSA station of MRT 3/LRT 1 lines. But thanks for the corrections. =P

Haha, sorry, I wasn't implying that or anything similar. I was just wondering why you included those malls I mentioned.

Hehe, anyway, I bunched Podium with Megamall, since it's just a stone's throw away, just like the GB malls, beside Glorietta, hence the reason why I didn't mention it anymore.

Interestingly, the demographics of your poll are quite unusual: you've got lots of votes for the upscale malls (Shang, Powerplant) but the leader is Trinoma. Strange.

You know, that's an interesting observation, of course there's bias since in both the poll questions, I put Trinoma as the first choice. So in the check boxes, it becomes an easy choice to accommodate considering that most of my readers are from the QC area (as the location of our residences). =P But yes, Trinoma doesn't exactly fit the demography of Shangri-la and Rockwell. =P

Ang lapit ko lang but I haven't been to SM annex yet. Pagdating ni Pocholo. Pero thanks, at least updated na ako. Hehehe. Anyway, you're right. I choose (I can't vote) Trinoma 'cos it is closer to home. Hehehe :D

See you soon. Merry Christmas CK! Happy New Year (though I know you don't like it)!

PS
I haven't started reading yet so don't feel guilty. Hehe ;)

REALLY (on reading)??? OMG NATUWA AKO BIGLA.

But the thing is, I'll be away on vacation for six days starting Sunday, so I don't know how much reading I could do. ARGH.

Anyway, thank you for voting, and thank you for telling everyone that with Open ID, you could vote on LJ polls. (=

Happy Christmas at New Year rin Agatha! I think I'll like New Year this year. =P
